Impeachment Inquiry Hearings
The case against President Trump for abuse of his Presidential powers in trying to get Ukraine to smear Joe Biden and interfere in our 2020 elections seems ever stronger with each new witness. Republican efforts to discredit the witnesses from within the Trump Administration are backfiring badly in the Intelligence Committee hearings.
Today, Ambassador to the EU and million dollar Trump contributor Gordon Sondland directly tied the President to the plot from start to finish. He reported that the President initiated and directed the effort and delegated it to Rudy Giuliani, Sondland, Perry and Volker. He said he was in frequent contact with the President, Secretary of State Pompeo, Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and his entire team in carrying it out. He was in frequent contact with the Ukrainians to convey the President’s demands as the effort morphed and grew, mushroomed and added ever worse dimensions. And he was in contact with the President to confirm their progress.
He said that he failed initially to understand, appreciate and connect the dots between investigating Burisma and smearing the Bidens, between a White House visit and the Ukraine aid package. But finally he put it all together, and yet in spite of his reservations kept on pushing to execute the President’s orders ‘til it all finally blew up in their faces.
