Report from LA 10/9/20
http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/media/coronavirus/data/index.htm
The weather is cooling off a bit for the moment and the local fires are under control for the time being. It may heat up and the Santa Ana’s may return next week. The fire department has been saving a few people with heat prostration on the local hiking trails, We have been hiking in the evening cool as the heat and air are no longer hazardous.
The Covid 19 pandemic is showing a bit of resurgence – cases are increasing, positivity rates are increasing, the long, steady decline in deaths and hospitalization rates have slowed and testing is still below where it needs to be. As far as I can tell, people are still doing a good job wearing masks and keeping social distances.
I saw a few Trump banners on local boats and then some Biden flags were flown. These have now all disappeared; as I believe the local marinas have stepped in. The mail-in ballots have begun to arrive and there was a steady stream of local voters dropping off their ballots at the local drop box. There were a few local news reports of stacks of bills and mail in voter ballots showing up in the local trash bins, so there may be some rogue people working for or contracting with USPS dumping ballots.
Love and safety to all, just vote and deposit your ballot in the local election boxes if you have any doubts.
