Biden’s Covid Vaccination Plans
It seems to be in five parts, with a goal of 100 million vaccinated in the first 100 days:
· Get more vaccines manufactured, using the Defense Production Act if needed to help with the manufacturing bottlenecks
· Get more vaccines injected, using National Guard, pharmacies, expanded public health workforces, FEMA, and expanded vaccine sites (community vaccination centers)
· Solve the logistics distribution problems of getting from manufacturers to the injection sites, use federal funding and federal/state/local/private partnerships
· Better communication so everyone involved knows what is going on and when, and to address the fears of vaccine hesitancy groups
· Expanded eligibility to get all over 65 vaccinated, then on down the age tiers.
We’ll soon see how this all works out. The Trump Administration has poorly handled the initial roll out and then compounded its failures by opening up eligibility without the necessary suppiies of the vaccine; I don’t have any clue why they did such a poor job and why some states and local entities also floundered.
