Roller Coasters -- Covid 19

Dr. Ezekiel Emmanuel and colleagues suggest that we are in for a roller coaster ride in order to tame the Covid 19 epidemic. Until an effective vaccine is developed, we will need to intermittently re-introduce social distancing as new outbreaks flare up. The projections for the vaccine are at the earliest one year to a year and a half away.

On the other hand, some in Australia, Singapore and China are reporting successful experimental treatments of Covid 19 with a common malaria drug and an AIDS treatment drug. https://asiatimes.com/2020/03/australia-lab-to-human-test-reputed-covid-19-cure/ They are in clinical trials to ascertain if, how and why they are effective.

China reported no new Covid 19 infections yesterday and South Korea reported more people going home with their infections having run their course than new infections — a major inflection point.
